Republic City is at WAR!

I just watched this week’s episode of Korra and I have to say… It did not disappoint. One more week of final exams and then I can finally shift my focus to this blog. Have you guys seen it yet? What do you think!?

This is really great news. Nickelodeon continues to impress as new episodes of Korra are uploaded each week; let’s just hope it stays like this the entire season. 

The Legend of Korra is so rich of a series that keeps getting better with each episode. Here are some thoughts on the first two episodes. *Spoiler Alert*

Welcome to Republic City” - Korra leaves the safety of her home and travels to bustling Republic City to begin her airbending training. Once there, she is shocked to find a big city full of corruption and dangers, including criminal bending gangs and a vocal anti-bending revolution. (1)

  • It was great to see a little Korra bending!
  • Old Katara was a pleasant surprise.
  • It will be interesting to learn more about Tenzin’s family. What about his brothers?

A Leaf in the Wind” - Korra is living with her airbending teacher Tenzin on Air Temple Island. Frustrated with her inability to master airbending, she disobeys Tenzin and turns her attentions to Republic City’s famous pro-bending arena. There she befriends two brothers, Mako and Bolin, who compete in professional bending matches. Korra is immediately drawn to pro-bending’s dynamic fighting style. (1)(2)

  • The Steampunk radio recap of each episode is awesome!
  • It is great to see how the Pro-Bending has developed a “New Style” out of the traditional methods of bending.
  • The Track Team does not disappoint with their music for the series.
